Membership Education
Programs of Sigma Pi
The Bayard Membership Experience is an education initiative designed to educate and support prospective new members as they transition into brotherhood. Participants will be provided with resources and information that will build upon their fraternal experience while also providing them with skills to make a positive impact in their own communities.
The Plaid® Tightrope Program is a Health and Safety program that covers topics including alcohol and drug use, hazing prevention, sexual misconduct, and mental health. The program uses a format that is intuitive and engaging, drawing on gamification, television, and online culture.
The Bonds of Brotherhood is a program that seeks to promote and educate a culture of positive mental health across all members and their communities. Sigma Pi acknowledges this is an important element of its membership. The goal of the program is to provide Sigma Pi members with a comprehensive suite of tools that will allow for better advocacy of mental health awareness for members of the Fraternity.
Sigma Pi Engage is a new initiative to provide members with opportunities to learn, connect, and interact with others both within and outside their chapter through regional-based educational programming. This program is designed to help members build strong relationships with those in their local community and nearby chapters within their province, while also improving individual and chapter operational efficiency. Additionally, the program seeks to re-engage alumni in the surrounding area by inviting them to participate as speakers and facilitators.
The Tony Siress Leadership Summit is a leadership program that has been designed to provide an experience driven by a curriculum that allows members to expand their skills both personally and professionally. Attendees will be immersed in an experiential learning environment that will revolve around educational pillars the Fraternity has deemed critical to the growth of our members. Topics in this program will include leadership, risk management & mitigation, diversity, equity, & inclusion, professional development, and marketing & branding.
The Mid-Year Leadership Conference (MYLC) is the annually hosted program for Executive Council Officers. The curriculum has been created in order to assist with the transition of newly elected and returning positions. Throughout the program attendees will establish a greater foundation of knowledge of the intrinsic and operational value of each of their roles and how their leadership will impact the success or lack thereof for their respective chapters.
The Back to School Summit is an annually hosted program designed to refresh chapter leaders on operations post-summer hiatus. The curriculum serves as a foundation for chapter leaders to receive critical knowledge regarding the implementation of tools and resources for a successful start to their semester or quarter. Those who complete this program will leave with a better understanding of topics that are valuable to the Executive Council, and its specific roles, while also being better prepared for MYLC.
The purpose of the Volunteer Summit is to provide Sigma Pi volunteers across all areas of North America, the resources and education on working with todays undergraduates, while also knowledge on topics pertaining from housing, conduct, and lobbying efforts, in today’s ever-changing collegiate landscape.
The Master of Ritual Program is designed to enlighten members with a heightened understanding and appreciation for the secrets and mysteries of
the Fraternity. The program is comprised of a series of ten escalating trials that make up four degrees. Once completed, individuals receive the status of “Master of Ritual” within Sigma Pi.
