On January 13th, 2015, the Executive Office was notified that Brother Gary Grubacich (Alpha-Omicron, UC-Santa Barbara ’68) passed to the Adytum on High over the weekend. A member of Alpha-Omicron Chapter at UC-Santa Barbara, he served as the Chapter Director and Alumni Comptroller since 2007 and was Vice Chairman of Legal for the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation since 2010. After the Chapter’s re-chartering in 2007, his devotion to the group helped in securing a dominant house on the campus with over a 100 active members.
No matter where an international event was held, Gary made the trip in his Hawaiian shirt. It is one thing to be a volunteer, but another to change young members’ lives in Sigma Pi. Brother Grubacich strived to make real the fraternity’s ideals in his own daily life.
