Charter revoked at Beta-Sigma Chapter at Northern Illinois

Effective June 6, 2012, the Grand Council of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International revoked the charter of the Beta-Sigma Chapter at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ill.

Beta-Sigma was closed for violations of both Fraternity, University and FIPG risk management policies. These violations included hosting an unregistered social event, use of common alcohol sources and hospitalization of a guest for alcohol poisoning. Additionally the university found the chapter was responsible for hazing practices. These violations resulted in a four year loss of recognition from the university.

Sigma Pi places a high value on our chapter standards with the expectation that each chapter will conform for the benefit of their members and the International organization,
