Objective

Advance the mission and positive impact of the Fraternity through mutually beneficial partnerships which advance the health and safety of members.

Goals

  • In order to share in a cherished college experience free from harm, every undergraduate member will be trained on the health and safety policies of Sigma Pi so that each brother has a thorough comprehension of men’s health issues and proper mental health procedures.
  • Collegiate chapters will attend specific training programs which have been designed to ensure every collegiate standards board understands and appropriately implements accountability measures set by Sigma Pi.
  • Every collegiate chapter will attend the Virtual Mid-Year Leadership Conference and Back to School educational sessions where they will review health and safety initiatives set in place to perpetuate a safe and healthy brotherhood.

Results to Date

ONGOING
During the 2022-2023 year there were 1,172 members who completed the Tightrope Health and Safety Training — which equates to New Members from 82% of Sigma Pi Chapters completing the training which includes standardized education and training on mental health (1% increase from 2021-2022)

ONGOING/PLANNING
Currently, members who attend the Mid-Year Leadership Conference are provided the opportunity to engage in programming focused on education of Standards Boards. In the Fall 2023 Semester Sigma Pi will launch its Self-Governance Training which will include Standards Boards as a critical component of this responsibility.

ONGOING
Attendees of the Back to School Summit and Mid-Year Leadership Conference are invited to join sessions focused on Health and Safety and discussion of Sigma Pi policies, expectations, and initiatives.
