Objective

Guided by the Creed of the Fraternity, chapters will self-select prospective members and extend membership opportunities to individuals exemplifying the values of Sigma Pi, regardless of race, ethnicity, status, or other identification.

Goals

  • Collegiate members will be afforded the opportunity to engage in education that will challenge their frame of reference and expand their perspective by accentuating the power of diversified communities.
  • Every chapter and colony president will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences that will teach them how to effectively and respectfully lead in groups comprised of members with varied experiences, perspectives, identities, and ideologies.
  • Members will receive access to and benefit from values-based programming that promotes the highest ideals of Sigma Pi and teaches members how to apply these principles to a diverse community while remaining cognizant of varying experiences, perspectives, identities, and ideologies.

Results to Date

The Tony Siress Leadership Summit will include programming dedicated to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and other topics that will further elaborate on opportunities for members to apply this knowledge and be cognizant of it in their personal and professional lives

Content will continue to be examined and implemented to further the values-based programming offered to members — conversations are currently pending on the opportunity to expand hands on DEI training, tools, and resources through the current strategic partnerships of Sigma Pi.

Through the Tony Siress Leadership Summit, members of the Fraternity will have the opportunity to engage in sessions/discussion that will challenge them to expand and/or build upon their current understandings of DEI. Taking it further, TSLS programming will delve deeper into what it means to be a member of Sigma Pi and how diversity, equity, and inclusion plays in to and can enhance the experience of its members.
