Sigma Pi Adopts Member Accident Protection Plan to Expand Member Coverage

NASHVILLE, TN – October 1, 2026 – Following a year of strong risk-management performance across the Fraternity, Sigma Pi has elected to take on the additional expense of adopting the Member Accident Protection Plan (MAPP) offered through the Fraternity’s insurance carrier.

Chapters and members have continued to demonstrate greater attention to health and safety, helping reduce the organization’s overall exposure to claims. That progress has allowed Sigma Pi to invest in an additional layer of protection for members participating in chapter activities and events.

MAPP is designed to provide coverage for smaller accidents and injuries that occur at chapter houses, chapter events, and other eligible Fraternity activities that might fall outside the scope of the Fraternity’s broader general liability insurance coverage.

“Our members and chapters have made meaningful progress in reducing risk across the Fraternity,” said Executive Director Justin “JT” Todoroff (Cal State Long Beach ’01). “Adding this coverage allows us to reinvest that progress directly into additional protection for our members. It is another way we are supporting a safer and stronger membership experience.”

MAPP will supplement the existing insurance program of Sigma Pi and provide additional support when eligible accidents occur. Members and chapter leaders will receive further information regarding coverage, eligibility, and the claims process as the program is implemented.

The addition of MAPP reflects the Fraternity’s continued focus on proactive risk management, member safety, and responsible stewardship of Fraternity resources.
