Executive Director for Sigma Pi Fraternity 

Position Overview

Sigma Pi, a leading men’s collegiate fraternity in North America, is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and mission-driven Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 professional staff as well as the exceptional delivery of operational and administrative services to the national fraternity.

This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in nonprofit organization management, budget and finance, and staff supervision, as well as a strong appreciation for the values, mission, and general operation of Greek-letter organizations.

This role is full-time and some travel will be required, including on weekends as necessary. 

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Director

Operational Support

  • Provides technical support to the Sigma Pi National Board (“Grand Council”) as it develops and periodically revises the organization’s strategic vision and policies.
  • Translates organizational priorities set by the Grand Council into operational goals with measurable outcomes and delegates responsibilities to staff accordingly.
  • Carries out other duties required by the Fraternity’s Constitution and Bylaws.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with Sigma Pi alumni, donors, charitable foundation leaders, university administrators, industry leaders and professionals, and corporate partners.

Organizational Management

  • Oversees day-to-day management of the Fraternity’s affairs while ensuring delivery of high-quality financial, compliance, IT, human resources, and other operational and administrative services, in support of the organization’s affiliated entities.
  • Manages professional staff with a focus on operational excellence and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Plans and executes Fraternity conventions and leadership/educational programs.

Financial Oversight

  • Manages all budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting responsibilities for the organization.
  • Ensures sound financial stewardship, compliance with all laws and regulations, and transparent reporting to the Grand Council.
  • Develops financial strategies to support long-term sustainability.

Governance & Board Relations

  • Ensures compliance with contracts, policies, and legal obligations.
  • Reports directly to the Grand Council, which regularly evaluates the Executive Director’s performance related to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Records, Technology & Data Systems

  • Manages Fraternity records (business, financial, membership, and historical).
  • Ensures effective use of technology, data, and reporting systems to support financial management, long-term planning, and improvements to efficiency and chapter and member services.

External Relations & Representation

  • Serves as a spokesperson for the organization both internally and externally.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (business, finance, nonprofit management, higher education administration, or related field).
  • Track record of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, higher education, or fraternity/sorority management.
  • Demonstrated success in alumni engagement and donor relations.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and sustainability planning.
  • Experience leading and developing professional staff teams of 10+ individuals.
  • Prior involvement with the Sigma Pi national organization is preferred.
