Sigma Pi Fraternity Launches Proclamation Program to Recognize Extraordinary Member Achievements

October 31, 2024 – Sigma Pi Fraternity is proud to announce the launch of a new Grand Council Proclamation Program, an initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of its members and associations throughout the year. Through this program, the Grand Council of Sigma Pi will issue formal proclamations to individuals and groups who demonstrate exceptional dedication to service, leadership, and the Fraternity’s values.

The first honorees of the Proclamation Program are two dedicated members – Thomas Kurt Tellez (Fullerton, CA ’79) and David Thomas Meis (Fullerton, CA ’81) – who have made significant contributions to a longstanding fishing derby fundraiser for Epsilon-Nu Chapter in Fullerton, CA. This charitable initiative, now in its 40th year, has been a lasting symbol of commitment and service, and the efforts of these members have continued to elevate its impact throughout the years.

Grand Sage Christian J. Miele (Towson ’00), who has championed the Program’s development, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, saying, “The Proclamation Program is a unique way to honor the exemplary acts of our members that embody our Fraternity’s values of service, leadership, and brotherhood. By recognizing those who go above and beyond, we hope to inspire future generations of Sigma Pi brothers to make a meaningful difference in their communities and lives.”

The Proclamation Program will include recognitions across a variety of categories, including philanthropy, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement. Each proclamation will serve as an enduring testament to the remarkable accomplishments of Sigma Pi members. The Program highlights the Fraternity’s commitment to fostering a culture of achievement and recognizes the efforts of those who contribute to the legacy of Sigma Pi.
