23novallday25Alumni Weekend - Orange County Alumni Association

Event Details

We are excited to once again host the 33rd Annual OCAA Sigma Pi Golf Classic & Happy Hour Reception.  Mark your calendars for Monday, November 25, 2024, as we continue this legacy tournament and alumni gathering at the private country club in Placentia, California: Alta Vista.

Sigma Pi Fraternity has been at the cutting edge of undergraduate education, a true college experience, and solid alumni networking for 127 years.  Known for its brotherhood and development of one’s character, Sigma Pi stands as one of the nation’s outstanding opportunities for young men to find fellowship of kindred minds.  As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the college campus’ cultural and political differences it is paramount that we, as alumni, remain committed with unwavering leadership to our young men by securing the best networking, mentoring, and scholarship support.

The funds raised from this year’s golf classic and basket auction will be dedicated to supporting important initiatives within our Southern California chapters.  This will include but not limited to the following:

  • SoCal LEAP Fund (Leadership Education and Programming) – to help offset ALL SoCal undergraduate chapters costs for training, speakers, and workshops.
  • Bonds of Brotherhood Initiative (Mental Health and Suicide Programming) – to help offset costs of MH&S awareness and training for our SoCal chapters.
  • Undergraduate Scholarships – funds awarded to individual members of our chapters.
  • Chapter Support – funds awarded to individual chapters to offset rush and meeting room costs.
  • Annual Alumni Dues – these are costs directly paid to the national fraternity for our official alumni chapters in order to retain support and services throughout the year.

Additionally, we are expanding our weekend holiday activities in order to reach more alumni from various chapters who are staying home or visiting the Southern California market.  This is the perfect opportunity to re-engage, meet the fraternity’s elected leadership, and network.  Spouses are invited.

  • Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, newly elected Grand Council member, Peter Georgantopoulos (Eta-Upsilon, UC Irvine) will host a reception in South Orange County (location TBD).
  • Sunday, November 24th, re-elected Grand Council member, Brian Devot (Beta-Omicron, Long Beach St) will host a reception in downtown Huntington Beach (location TBD).

Thank you for your continued support, passion, and interest in Sigma Pi Fraternity.  Our future leaders need your fellowship to continue the legacy of fraternal brotherhood. Your participation, in any or all of these November events, will contribute to our ongoing commitment to providing the highest standard of fraternal excellence in Southern California.  We look forward to your involvement in making that weekend a resounding success. Guests and spouses are encouraged to attend.
