Sigma Pi Executive Director Michael Ayalon Steps Down, Jason Walker Named Interim Executive Director

The Grand Council of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International, announced today that Executive Director Ayalon (Buffalo ’97), will leave the position on September 28, 2015, after over three years of leadership.

Ayalon became the Executive Director in 2012 and was instrumental in acquiring the Mitchell House as the Sigma Pi Fraternity, International Executive Office. The Regional Director concept was introduced seeking more skilled alumni working with the chapters and alumni. The changes in the format for leadership training have been positive with the average chapter size being the largest in our history.

“Mike has served Sigma Pi with dedication and professionalism in working with Chapters, the NIC, FEA and host institutions of Sigma Pi,” said Grand Sage E. Andrew Morris (Murray State ’70). “His positive impact on Sigma Pi will be felt for years to come. We are grateful for his determination and visions.”

Associate Executive Director Jason Walker (Georgia ’96) has been appointed Interim Executive Director effective immediately upon Ayalon’s departure. Jason has served as the Associate Executive Director since 2012. Prior to 2012, Jason served the Fraternity in several leadership roles, and prior to working at Sigma Pi, had an extensive Retail Operations Management career with Publix.

“Jason’s knowledge and experience in our operations, his excellent communication and collaboration skills and dedication to the advancement of our Fraternity made our appointment clear and simple.”

The Sigma Pi Grand Council will announce its plans for executive leadership at a future date.
