Grand Sage appoints Saffren and Swope as committee chairs

Sigma Pi Fraternity, International announces the appointment of two alumni as chairmen of Grand Council committees.

Marc S. Saffren, CFRE (SUNY Albany, ’92) has been appointed chairman of the Grand Council Operations Committee. The committee is charged with reviewing the current nomination committee and elections process and presenting recommendations for revision and improvement as necessary.

Marc is a partner and founder of m3 Development, a company serving the nonprofit and corporate sectors nationally, with headquarters on Long Island and offices in New Jersey. The company offers nonprofit management and philanthropic solutions that combine innovation with sound leadership fundamentals. Prior to founding m3 ten years ago, Marc held various positions, including Vice President for Development at the Jewish Fund for Justice, Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at American Cancer Society’s Eastern Division and other senior level positions.

He has been an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University in the Non Profit Management Program and lectures at Columbia University. He also has served on the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation Board of Trustees.

Marc was selected as chairman of this committee because of his wide background and extensive experience working with and serving on a variety of successful non-profit boards.

Marc resides in Manorville, New York, and competes annually as a Triathlete having completed eleven races to date with his wife Ruthann, a teacher and three children Ava, Matthew and Georgia.
