Effective October 9, 2014, the Grand Council of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International revoked the charter of Eta-Omega Chapter at Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island.
Eta-Omega Chapter had their charter revoked after Johnson & Wales University suspended the chapter for three years as a result of the chapter being found responsible for fighting, destruction of property, and disorderly conduct. There have also been various violations of FIPG regulations since 2012.
Eta-Omega Chapter will be eligible to return to campus no earlier than Fall 2017.
Sigma Pi Fraternity has resolved to hold its chapters accountable for compliance with all Grand Chapter and University policies, FIPG guidelines, new member education policies, minimum standards on chapter membership, and adherence to the governing laws of the Fraternity.
