Letter from the CEO

Brothers and Friends,

I hope this edition of The Sigma Pi Quarterly finds you and your family in good health.

Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers for your support in our wonderful mission: To inspire, promote, and support the lifelong development of our brothers. Your commitment to give of your time and treasure, in support of the development of Sigma Pi student members, has allowed the Fraternity to continue to provide world-class consultation and leadership training in their collegiate matriculation. Chapter officers are growing as young men, leaders, and community members. But there is much more to do, and below I hope to highlight the successes and opportunities for continued progress.

Currently, Sigma Pi sits at 93 chapters and colonies making up over 4,900 collegiate members. That number of collegiate members is an increase of 1.5% since spring 2024 and we applaud the young men who are leading their chapters and focusing on recruiting outstanding young men to help them continue to build their Sigma Pi experience.

While this is great news, unfortunately, this year we have seen six chapters surrender their charter due to low membership. These chapters had little to no alumni support and even with investments by Sigma Pi into recruitment resources, including contracting current student members from other chapters, as well as staff, did not manifest into sustainable chapters on their campuses. To help mitigate these issues, Sigma Pi hosted a Recruitment Academy for ten chapters from across North America, who are under 50 men, but their campus shows opportunity for growth. This workshop included sessions facilitated by alumni as well as the Dale Carnegie Institute. The Academy focused on budgeting, sales and marketing, public speaking and overall team dynamics.

The 2024-2025 Sigma Pi Engage leadership workshops have allowed over 40 chapters to connect via these educational programs. Engage is unique as part of the agenda for the day is developed via surveys from the student leaders on what they identify as areas of opportunity in their regions. Currently, this program provides for two officers of the chapters and colonies in their province to attend at little to no cost. Sigma Pi would love to see this grow to provide for more student officers, but it will rely on charitable support by alumni and friends to help provide those financial resources needed to expand the program.

This summer will see the Tony Siress Leadership Summit convene in Lanier Islands in Georgia and will be open to 50 collegiate members who are rising sophomores and juniors, looking to grow their leadership skills. This program is facilitated by alumni in high level positions who bring their years of professional experience and share on branding, personal development, finances, and other key issues young men need to learn and grow. We are appreciative of the alumni who join us at this program and come back to share with young men what types of skills and mindsets are needed to lead business, departments, and people.

As we look ahead, the strength of Sigma Pi will continue to rest in the hands of those who believe in our shared mission and values. Whether through mentorship, financial support, or simply staying connected, your involvement makes an undeniable difference. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we can ensure that Sigma Pi continues to empower young men to become principled leaders, now and for generations to come.
